Rest

Sweet stubborn Piper was in a frank breech position since 29 weeks. She would NEVER budge so they scheduled my C-Section for May 8th. The Wednesday before the big day I had my final Dr appt. I went alone because I didn't think it would be anything big. Boy was I wrong. When I got to the appt they checked all my vitals and said that my blood pressure was really high. My dr said that I need to go to labor and delivery immediately! WHAT???? My heart sank. I was terrified. I called Jeff immediately and luckily he only works about 20 minutes from the hospital so he was there in no time. I was in L&D for about 4 hours while they watched my vitals and did some tests. They finally came in and gave me the ok to go home and that I was on strict bed rest until the C-section on May 8th. I was so worried about Piper but I was also so worried about how I would sit still for 5 whole days. I did get the ok from the dr to make one last Target trip which my Mom came with me and made me ride on one of those annoying scooters. Quite embarassing but it was worth it to get out of the house for 30 minutes. I made it through the 5 days and all of the sudden May 8th popped up. I remember the night before feeling really calm and excited to finally see my baby girls face.

The Greatest Day of Our Lives!

We woke up bright and early on May 8th to make our 6:30am check in time. I was completely calm up until the anthesiologist came in. Then it was real that I was having surgery. It seemed like the 2 hours we were in the waiting room went by so slow. I couldn't wait to see Piper and couldn't wait to get the surgery over. I don't do well with IV's and I tried to tell the nurse that I need the kiddie needle because my veins are so small. She didn't listen and that was the worst pain of the whole experience. When they told Jeff to put his on his adorable outfit I could see him get really really nervous. Next thing I knew we were walking down the hallway and having to say goodbye for a few minutes. When I walked into the OR it was so cold. The nurses and dr's were AMAZING! They made it fun like we were at a party. Well I guess we were at a birthday party. They had music playing and they all made me feel so comfortable. I remember Jeff coming in and sitting next me making me feel even more at ease. It only took about 15 minutes and I heard the most amazing sound. My daughter. The dr told Jeff to stand up to see her. He stood up and saw more than just our daughter. He looked like he might pass out. So luckly he sat down quick. Piper was SCREAMING!!!! Not much changed. I could hear them all talking about how cute and tiny she was. It felt like an eternity for them to bring her over to me. What an angel. God is amazing and he really does create miracles. I could not believe that she was all mine. All 6lbs 6ozs of her. They told Jeff to take Piper to the recovery room. He said that he was so nervous holding her. He didn't know what to do. The nurse in the recovery room told him to talk to her. I think that is so cute. Those who know my hubby know that he is never at a loss for words. Piper was able to do that to him. My parents and Allison were waiting anxiously to hear the good news. So Jeff text them when he got in the recovery room. Too bad he only told them that she was here. They were dying to know how big she was! We only spent 3 days at the hospital and then it was off to home to begin our new life!

Proud Papa! He loves her to pieces. He always called me beetle when I was young thanks to the way I crawled when I had my cast on. I never minded it. He has a special nickname for Piper. He calls her Cub. It couldn't be any cuter.

Proud Gammy! I don't think my Mom loves being called Gammy but it just suits her! Have you ever seen the move The Proposal? I love Gammy in that movie and my Mom is fun and silly just like her.

Grandma Prince

Piper Marie Prince

She is such a character. For the first 6 weeks she was VERY fussy. I had no clue what I was doing and I just thought that this was how all babies are. We took her to the Dr when it got worse and come to find out she has reflux. My poor baby had been suffering all that time. Now that she has her meds she is 100 times better. She is so much fun and smiles all the time. She babbles quite a bit and Jeff can get the best laughs out of her. She absolutely adores her Daddy! She is still a little peanut! At her 4 month check up she weighed 12lbs 9oz which is only 30 percentile. She is getting up there though. At first she was only 12 percentile. We are absolutely loving every moment with her. She is die for and we couldn't feel more blessed. Here is her first 19 weeks in photos. I should try blogging a little bit more.

I don't even remember when she was this tiny!!!!!

This last pic is perfectly Piper! She has spunk and we love everything about her adorable personality!

Best news and a name!!!

On December 19th Jeff and I headed to the oh so important gender scan. I was nervous and excited at the same time. We both thought for sure it was going to be a boy. I was secretly praying for a girl. About a minute after we got in the room the ultrasound tech knew what we were having. She said the magic words "It's a girl!". I almost started to cry because I was so overwhelmed and excited then I looked at Jeff and I just saw pure shock on his face. He was so certain that we were having a boy he just could not believe it was a girl. The tech said that she was 100% sure it was a girl. Jeff got over the shock and is super excited to have a little girl. She was being a little stinker and would not show us her face so we had to go back in on the 29th for another scan. We got some really amazing 3D images of her cute little face. As soon as I figure out how to get them downloaded I will post them. The 2nd ultrasound tech also confirmed that she is a girl. I felt so relieved because I kept hearing all these stories of people being told it was a girl and then finding out it was a boy.

On Christmas Eve I really started to feel her for the first time. Now she is moving ALL the time. It is so nice to know that she is in there and doing ok. I am a bit of a worrier so that is pure relief for me each time I feel her little kicks. On Jan 2nd she started kicking hard enough that Jeff was able to feel her kick. He LOVED it! We are so blessed and could not be any happier. We only have 4 1/2 months to go and so much to plan.

Jeff did not want to discuss names until we knew what we were having so the second we got in the car I started going over the names that I loved. He shot down a couple and then I said the one that I really loved. To my surprise he loved it too. It was that easy. I almost thought he was joking because no way was it going to be that easy. He was not joking at all. Our families love the name and so do we. We can not wait to meet........................ Piper Marie Prince!

Chicago to Vegas!

I had the most amazing trip to Chicago! The girls that I traveled with are soooo much fun. We stayed in the beautiful Hilton Chicago. It is an amazing brick building just outside of Grant Park. The weather was perfect! Since we were in conference most of the time we didn't get to do too much sight seeing. The precious time we had we did as much as we could. I can't wait to go back next year and see more of what this amazing city has to offer.

My fave travel buddy Sarah and I with the famous Chicago sign!

Ashlie, Sarah and I on our first day of conference!

Super large soda's at super yummy Lou Malanati's with Olivia and Kel.

My absolute favorite part of the trip was the speed boat architecture cruise that Sarah, Olivia and Peggy and I went on. The architecture is amazing and speeding boating on Lake Michigan was sooooo much fun!

On our last day there we had 5 hours to do whatever we wanted so we walked all over the city. We got to stop at Zara and a few other shops. We waited in line for the famous Garretts popcorn. Everyone knows how much I LOVE popcorn....maybe not so much but Jeff sure does so he was very excited with his large bag of cheese popcorn I brought home for him. We also got to stop at Millenium park and take some fun pics by the bean.

In just 2 short weeks we will be traveling to Vegas with Jeff's bro Todd and his wife Sandee. Sandee and I will be celebrating our birthday's. Sandee's birthday is just one day before mine. I think thats why we are BFF's. Love her to pieces. I am the only one who has been to Vegas so I can't wait to show them around town. I may not be the best tour guide since my past visits consisted of shopping and The Thunder but I am sure we will have plenty to do and see. We are driving which is a 1st for me so I can't wait for the adventure of being in a car with my hubs for 5 hours. Todd and Sandee are in for a treat!! I am really looking forward to some time with my hubby and time with my fave BIL and SIL! Hard to believe that I will be 30 but I am looking forward to celebrating in Sin City!
